Santa Barbara Kite Festival

Event Schedule*

11am-4pm Sunday April 10th, 2011,

The Great Meadow -West Campus Lawn

This schedule of events is flexible and subject to change without notice due to wind and crowd conditions on festival day. The festival has created a “safe flying zone” (the rectangular area bordered by neon safety tape) for the festival events. Please respect the festival’s safe flying zone and the participants competing inside the zone area. Do not fly your kite or your child’s kite over the “safe flying zone” area. Free flying of your kite is allowed and encouraged all day long outside of “safe flying zone” (there is plenty of room to fly outside of the zone).

• 11am Kite Tail Chase for children (Organized into age groups. There will be approximately 20-25 kite “tail chases” held today so there is plenty of opportunities for children ages 5 to 12 to participate)

• 12noon- Most Beautiful Kite

• 12:30pm- Free Family Fly (families can fly their kites inside the safety zone)

• 1pm- Sport Flying

• 2pm-3pm- Kite Fighting

• 3pm -Highest Flying Kite, Junior (under 12) and Senior (over 12)
